How to Compare Wire Cutting and Stripping Machine Specifications

Selecting a wire cutting and stripping machine begins with matching the equipment to the wire range and insulation types your production actually runs. A machine specified for a narrow cross-section band can perform well on those wires, while a broader band gives more flexibility when your mix changes.

Cut length accuracy and stripping repeatability are usually the first performance values to compare. Ask for the tolerance the manufacturer applies to cut length and to the strip length on both ends, then confirm how those values behave across the full wire range rather than at a single sample size.

Specifications to compare side by side

  • Wire cross-section and insulation range the machine supports
  • Cut length and strip length tolerance statements
  • Cycle time and how blade changes are performed
  • Optional units such as prefeed, marking or twisting attachments

Processing your own sample wires is the most direct way to compare two machines. It shows how the blade system handles your insulation, how consistently the strip length repeats, and how the control interface fits your operators.
